Research overview
This paper studies how autonomous aerial vehicles and vessels can jointly provide computing services for uncertain maritime IoT tasks.
The problem
Unpredictable task arrivals and varying resource availability complicate maritime offloading. Aerial vehicles and vessels also have different computing capacities and action spaces, so their decisions require coordinated resource allocation.
The approach
Lyapunov optimization converts long-term constraints into per-slot problems that minimize execution time. These problems are formulated as a Markov game and addressed with heterogeneous-agent soft actor-critic, using sequential network updates to coordinate the different agents.
Evaluation
Numerical simulations evaluate offloading and resource allocation under the considered maritime conditions. Detailed assumptions, baselines, and results are available in the published article.
